Welcome

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Curtin University Malaysia — Curtin University’s largest global campus and a proud partnership with the Sarawak Government since our establishment in 1999.

As part of a globally ranked, forward-looking university, we are committed to transforming lives and communities through world-class education and impactful research. Here in Miri, on the beautiful island of Borneo, students from over 50 countries come together to experience a high-quality Australian education in a distinctly Malaysian and Sarawakian setting.

Our campus is a truly international environment. With academic staff drawn from more than 15 countries, and a strong multicultural student community, we offer a cross-cultural learning experience that broadens perspectives and nurtures global citizenship. This rich diversity is not just part of our identity; it is  at the heart of how we prepare our students for the future.

At Curtin Malaysia, we offer a wide range of industry-relevant programs at pre-university, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Our courses mirror those offered at Curtin’s main campus in Perth and are delivered using the same academic frameworks, technologies, and teaching approaches. Under Curtin’s ‘One Curtin’ global model, our students can transfer seamlessly between campuses for short study programs, exchange, or to complete their degrees abroad – giving them unparalleled international exposure.

We also pride ourselves on our use of technology-rich learning environments and innovative teaching practices, including distributed learning that fosters real-time collaboration between students and academics across campuses and time zones.

Beyond academics, Curtin Malaysia is a place of opportunity and transformation, where students thrive in a dynamic, inclusive and forward-thinking campus community that is deeply connected to local industries, communities and the aspirations of Sarawak.

I invite you to explore all that Curtin Malaysia has to offer and to be part of our journey in shaping the future – not just for our students, but for Sarawak, Malaysia, and the world.
