Message from the Associate Dean

At the Faculty of Business, we strive to bridge our faculty with industry, government, alumni, future students, and the wider community. We believe that meaningful engagement is the cornerstone of a future-ready education, ensuring that what we teach, research, and contribute remains relevant, impactful, and connected to real-world needs.
Key priorities
As per our External Engagement 2026 plan, our focus areas are:
Strengthen industry relevance of our courses
- Attract quality students through industry relevance and professional recognition
- To explore new partnership with industry, government agencies, and professional bodies via MOUs
- MOU process guidelines and template to be shared with all lecturers to support staff engagement and MOU development.
Partnership that supports R&D and L&T
We collaborate with external stakeholders to enhance Research & Development and Learning & Teaching through strategic partnerships that enhance innovation, improve academic quality, and create meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange and applied learning.
Increase our future student pipeline
- To work with relevant departments in increasing future student pipeline
- Slide pack for marketing purposes are ready for all lecturers who are involved.
Other external engagement
- Community: FOB Community Talk Series, Workshops for indigenous community, youths in rural areas, and single parents
- Industry: Curtin Business Insight Series
- Alumni: FOB Alumni Gathering
- Other engagement at University level: Careers Marathon (career workshop, industry talk, company sharing), Career Fair, Alumni Homecoming & Awards.
