Within Malaysia’s growing field of environmental engineering, you’ll focus on areas like water treatment, solid waste management (including industrial and hazardous waste), and domestic and industrial wastewater treatment.
As an environmental engineer, you’ll play a key role in protecting and managing natural resources, including air, water, and land. Your expertise will be in demand for environmental impact assessments, air pollution prevention, and environmental monitoring and management systems. You’ll also work on projects involving environmental consultation, soil erosion prevention, noise monitoring and control, recycling system development, and oil spill recovery efforts.
The major has a common first year with all other engineering disciplines which builds a range of basic science skills and knowledge, with particular emphasis on physics, chemistry and mathematics.
