This honours degree program focuses on two key disciplines – construction management and quantity surveying.
In response to evolving industry demands shaped by IR4.0 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 2023 course structure incorporates digitalisation and sustainability elements, ensuring you stay at the forefront of your profession.
A notable addition is the specialisation in Quantity Surveying, which aligns with industry needs and equips you with the essential knowledge and skills for success in both construction management and quantity surveying roles.
The new course structure also introduces a career pathway in Building Information Modeling (BIM), where you’ll learn various BIM-related software to enhance your construction digital technology skills.
You will study subjects relating to:
- construction technology
- quantity measurement and cost estimating
- project planning and management
- strategy and financial management
- contract administration
- building and construction law
- cost planning and estimating
- cost management
- implementation of IT in construction (including building information modelling)
- professional communication and interpersonal skills.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in supervised visits to construction sites and international study trips. In addition to your study, you are required to undertake 80 continuous working days’ (640 hours) work experience prior to graduating.
