Technology used in accounting is vital because it increases efficiency, speed, and accuracy in any business. While handling accounting and finance data, it helps to reduce errors, foster trust, and uphold business. If you are tech-savvy and detail-oriented, specialising in audit analytics can be a strong career pathway with global demand.

Through this double major, you will learn traditional accounting methods and accounting technology. You will study how automation gathers, cleans and analyses large financial datasets and converts them into timely insights. Further accounting analytics improves big data and visualisation.

In the accounting major, you will gain a foundation in accounting concepts, financial statements, accounting standards and regulations, auditing, taxation and relevant business law and financial management. In the audit analytics, major you will study how technology is used in accounting. The specific topics are accounting modelling, data visualisation, data analytics, business technologies, data management, business valuation, etc.

Your qualification will be recognised internationally, including by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), CPA Australia, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). You may also be eligible to join professional accounting bodies.
