Australia Awards Malaysia – Semester Program
Eligibility criteria
- Malaysian citizen
- Household income of RM11,819 and below (supporting documents required)
- Full-time current Year 2 Semester 1 student enrolled in an undergraduate degree, postgraduate coursework or research degree program at Curtin Malaysia, with a CWA of 65-70% (Good Standing)
- Submission of a 500-word personal statement addressing the following question: “Why are you interested in the Australia Awards Malaysia–Semester Program, and what makes you a suitable candidate?”, and
- Successful completion of an interview conducted by the International Student Office.
Amount of award and duration
The scholarship would cover the entire duration of the semester program (6 months).
As part of the experience, you will receive:
Allowance
An allowance provided to support the purchase of airfare, visa payment, as well as daily expenses and accommodation in Perth
Australian education and cross-cultural learning
Exposure to Australian education standards and cross-cultural learning
Orientation
An orientation covering academic expectations, cultural adjustment, and health and safety information
Ongoing support
Ongoing support from program coordinators and faculty mentors on academic and student welfare matters
Learning opportunities
Hands-on learning opportunities, including workshops, field visits, and collaboration with industry professionals
Please note that tuition fees are not covered under this scholarship and shall be borne by the student.

Please note that students may apply for either the Exal Global Scholars Program or the Australia Awards Malaysia–Semester Program. Concurrent applications to both programs are strictly not permitted.
