Background
Roselind earned her BA in English and Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia, followed by an M.Ed. in TESL from Universiti Teknologi MARA and a Ph.D in Social Science and Humanities from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. Her career includes roles such as Lecturer and Head of Language and Communication Cluster at UTP, and managerial positions at Perak Entrepreneur and Skills Development Centre and Sarawak Skills Development Centre, Kabuloh, Miri. In 2016, Roselind was an ENDEAVOR Research Fellow at the School of Literature, Languages, and Linguistics, Australian National University (ANU) where she conducted a study on the intricate relationship between language, culture, and identity of the Kayan people of Sarawak. Her research interests span anthropological linguistics, documentary linguistics, sociolinguistics, and lexicography, focusing on the intersection of language, culture, and identity of Borneo’s Indigenous communities. Her documentary work on the Kayan language and culture is archived in PARADISEC (Pacific and Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures), and she is currently developing an ethnographic cultural Kayan online dictionary.
