At the Department of Accounting and Finance, we value open-minded thinking and respect for different views. This inclusive approach strengthens our teaching and learning. Our lecturers are experienced researchers, industry professionals, and certified educators who connect theory with real-world practice. We believe that learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom—our strong alumni network and industry links help students grow both academically and professionally.
We regularly invite finance professionals to share insights and enhance our courses. We also organize field trips to give students hands-on exposure. So far, students have visited CIMB Investment and commercial banks, the Inland Revenue Board, Malaysian Building Society, Talent Enriching Program Institute, and Bursa Malaysia. These visits help students better understand how the financial world works.
Our Accounting program—the largest in the Faculty of Business at Curtin Malaysia—offers single and double majors. We designed the program to meet current industry needs and reflect ongoing changes in accounting rules and regulations. The steady demand for accounting professionals makes this a smart and lasting career choice.
