  • Curtin University (Malaysia) is proud to be the main organizer of the 27th Malaysian Finance Association International Conference, co-hosted with the Malaysian Finance Association (MFA). Scheduled for 26 – 27 November 2025 in Miri, Sarawak, this prestigious event will gather a diverse group of academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and students to discuss the crucial role of finance and business in the global transition towards sustainability. This year’s conference, themed “Sustainable Finance and Business: Transition into Resilient and Net-Zero Economy,” will explore the critical role of finance and business in driving the global transition towards sustainability, aligning with key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
  • SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
    • With a focus on financial inclusion, digital finance, and fintech, the event explores how innovations in finance can foster sustainable economic growth and business development, particularly through the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria into economic practices and business models
  • SDG 9: Industy, innovation and infrastructure
    • Discussions on emerging technologies, such as AI and fintech, highlight how they are reshaping corporate governance, investments, and global business management. These innovations encourage the development of sustainable infrastructure and support the transformation of industries toward resilience and sustainability
  • SDG 13: Climate action
    • The conference emphasizes the role of climate finance in supporting sustainable projects and mitigating environmental risks, which are crucial for transitioning to a net-zero economy
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the goal
    • The conference fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing among academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and students, promoting partnerships that are essential for achieving global sustainability goals and driving collective action toward resilient and net-zero economies
