Distinguished Guests, Esteemed Colleagues, and Global Partners,
On behalf of Curtin University Malaysia’s Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences, I am delighted to welcome you to the Globesync: Community Research and Sustainability Conference 2025, taking place 4th – 5th December at Curtin University Malaysia in Miri, Sarawak. Under the theme “From Evidence to Legacy: Transforming Research into Sustainable Action,” we meet at a critical juncture as the world seeks innovative and evidence-based strategies to address pressing challenges—from climate change and resource scarcity to health disparities and social inequities.
This conference underscores the importance of turning research into concrete actions that uplift communities and safeguard future generations. By bringing together leaders and practitioners from public health, environmental science, engineering, social sciences, and policy, we create a vibrant forum where diverse perspectives can converge to form ground-breaking solutions. Such cross-sector collaborations will reshape norms, foster inclusive growth, and propel our global sustainability goals forward.
Guided by Curtin University’s strategic vision— “Through partnership, we will make a difference for people and our planet”—guides our efforts to forge strong collaborative ties across sectors and disciplines. When we unite our expertise, we can reimagine norms, champion inclusive development, and shape a more resilient global landscape.
In line with our commitment to holistic, future-focused research, I am also proud to announce the “1st Global Symposium on Ageing and Longevity (GSAL 2025)”, which will explore cutting-edge strategies and technologies to enhance the health and well-being of aging populations worldwide. Together, these events underscore our mission of inclusive, future-focused research that addresses the evolving needs of society.
As you engage in keynote sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, I encourage you to share your knowledge freely, challenge conventional thinking, and forge new partnerships. Let us seize this chance to transform data into impactful initiatives—both locally and internationally.
Thank you for joining us on this pivotal journey. Your dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit will help us build a lasting legacy—one defined by resilience, equity, and a sustainable future for all, ensuring no one is left behind.
Sincerely,
Professor Dr. Roy Rillera Marzo
